Carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders is never a pleasant feeling, however common it may seem.

With the very busy lives people lead, people can’t help but feel that there aren’t enough hours during a day, and that if we could extend an hour or two each day, that’s only when we can cover all our priorities. We all can honestly say that the overwhelming feeling of having too many things to do is, at some point, our own doing.

When it comes to work, you have to ask yourselves if it’s all worth it, if the ultimate destination to your very own line to a better tomorrow. If your efforts bring a promise of a better future for you, then by all means, push yourself forward. Giving up is probably one of the biggest mistakes you can ever make when you strive to win. Every trial surpassed is a step closer to the end.

Now, if you’ve made up your mind about going forward and overcoming all the hurdles, you need to do the following:

1.    Focus on what needs to be done. With the amount of work you still have to do, you need to know which task is more imperative.
2.    Break down your schedule and allot some time for each of the task. This applies to the smaller tasks. While you cannot, altogether, let go of and forget about the trivial matters, you only need to give a fraction of the overall time completing the secondary chores.
3.    Work on eliminating clutter because if you find yourself working in a chaotic environment, you will soon see that you also become less productive. Clutter is distracting, and if you need to clear the space before starting anything, do it. In the end, you can concentrate better and finish your work faster.
4.    Start setting goals so that you don’t drift through life not knowing where you’re exactly headed. Goals give you the energy that you need to complete what needs to be done. Attaining your objectives will make you happy, and one way to get to this happy place is by working on it.
5.    Learn the value of focus. It helps to set up a corner in your house where there are fewer distractions. Don’t give in to temptation and position your work station beside the television. Be firm about your schedule as much as possible.
6.    Know when to reward yourself to give you the willpower to push further.
7.    Lastly, know when to ask for help. Seek the advice of people who know and understand your situation.

If you continue to stress about everything, your health is bound to go downhill. It’s not a choice between your job and health.  It’s a matter of knowing how to balance, of knowing when to say no. If the amount of work reaches the point wherein your health and relationships are affected, it’s high time to do some rethinking.

Plan what you need and let go of the things that take too much of you. Life is a all about what you do with the choices you have available.
